The eight teams set to light up the U17 World Cup quarter-finals are now confirmed U17 World Cup contenders.

Africa will be represented by two national teams at this stage: Burkina Faso and Morocco.

The "Junior Etalons" clinched their quarter-final berth at the expense of Uganda, prevailing 5-3 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw. Meanwhile, the "Lion Cubs" advanced to this stage after edging out Mali with a 3-2 victory.
