Crowned African champions in 2023, Senegal is set to compete in the inaugural expanded edition of the U17 World Cup featuring 48 teams, hosted by Qatar from November 3 to 27, 2025.

After being knocked out in the quarter-finals of the last AFCON held in Morocco, Pape Ibrahima Faye's charges will compete in Group C alongside Costa Rica, Croatia and the United Arab Emirates.

Senegal overview

Senegal's U17 team is making its third appearance at the final stage of the World Cup in this age group. In their previous two campaigns, in 2019 and 2023, the Lion Cubs were eliminated each time in the Round of 16—first by Spain (2-1), then by France (0-0, 5-3 on penalties).
