Lazio are hoping to land former Roma player Nicolo Zaniolo, who could leave Udinese soon after completing a permanent switch amid a salary dispute.
According to SportMediaset, Udinese must raise funds for recruits this summer, and if Zaniolo is sold they would seek €15m-€20m.
The 26-year-old spent 2025-26 on loan from Galatasaray, producing six goals and six assists in 34 top-flight matches, prompting Udinese to trigger their option to buy. That sealed his permanent return to Serie A. He has represented five clubs across the last three years.
Despite the clause being exercised, he is unhappy with the wage terms. Now tied to Udinese until summer 2029 on €1.5m a year, roughly half his Galatasaray salary, he had accepted that cut to push through a late loan last summer. Udinese are not legally obliged to improve those terms, even if his agent has hinted at a gentlemen's agreement to revisit them after the deal became permanent.
The impasse could lead to another summer move for Zaniolo if a resolution is not found.
