UEFA Champions League / PSG – Newcastle: Vitinha strikes, Paris lead at halftime

At the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain lead Newcastle United at halftime (1-0) in matchday 8 of the Champions League group stage. The first half was played at a frenetic pace, packed with clear chances and intense sequences from both sides.

After Ousmane Dembélé saw his penalty saved by Nick Pope as early as the 4th minute, Paris quickly took control. Vitinha broke the deadlock in the 8th minute, set up by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The opening half, however, was overshadowed by Kvaratskhelia's injury-forced exit, with Désiré Doué coming on as his replacement. PSG are in front at the break and edging closer to direct qualification.
