Unai Núñez joins Valencia on loan, option to buy included | OneFootball

Valencia have confirmed their second signing of the January window, bringing in centre-back Unai Núñez on loan until the end of the season. The deal includes a non-obligatory option to buy that could be around five million.

The club said in a statement that it has reached an agreement with RC Celta de Vigo for his arrival, after the defender spent the first half of the campaign with Hellas Verona. He made 18 appearances across Serie A and Coppa Italia.

Núñez landed at Manises Airport on Friday afternoon and visited the team hotel while final confirmation was awaited.

He said he was very happy the deal had been sorted and that things would go step by step. He noted he had spoken with Carlos Corberán and would talk more in person. On playing time, he said it was the coach’s decision, adding he feels in perfect shape.

The 28-year-old has played more than 200 professional matches with Athletic Club, Celta and Hellas Verona. He called Mestalla a great stadium with an incredible support and hopes to give the fans many reasons to cheer.
