Vasco begins to make significant changes to the squad. The striker Alex Teixeira, who has been heavily criticized by fans in recent seasons, has agreed to terminate his contract with the club. The decision came from the board, which reached an agreement with the 35-year-old player's staff. Thus, he is not expected to play in the classic against Botafogo, this Thursday (11), for the Copa do Brasil.

The list of dismissals doesn't stop there. In addition to Alex, the board is also negotiating the departure of Mauricio Lemos and Jean David, other names targeted by criticism and who have lost space in the squad. The movement is part of the plan to reduce the payroll, considered essential by the new management to make room for reinforcements.

According to football director Admar Lopes, the priority is to cut costs without compromising on-field performance.

"We need to lighten the payroll to be able to hire. We have something within our pocket, within our possibilities, that we can bring," he explained.

Even with the changes, Fernando Diniz stressed that he does not want to lose any of the 11 most used starters, although he recognizes that situations like that of Rayan, who is being scouted, are out of control.

"My expectation is to keep Rayan until the end of the year, but there is a fine. If they pay, we can't do anything," said Lopes.

Amid pressure for results and a delicate financial scenario, Vasco bets on restructuring to regain sporting strength and restore confidence to the fan.
