United surge past Dundee as Ferry hits brace to stay top

Dundee United beat Dundee 3-0 at Tannadice to stay top of the Scottish Premiership's Relegation group, with Will Ferry scoring twice and creating the other.
In the 14th minute, Will Ferry finished from close range to put United ahead.
Jon McCracken kept Dundee in it with sharp stops before the break, denying early United pressure.
Joe Westley briefly thought he had levelled for Dundee, but his strike was overturned after a VAR review (37.).
After the restart, Ferry doubled the lead with a low drive from distance (70.), set up by Vicko Sevelj. Moments later, Ryan Strain glanced in Ferry's cross (72.) to seal it for The Arabs.
Dave Richards made late saves to thwart Yan Dhanda and Billy Koumetio as United protected their clean sheet.
United registered 18 attempts, hitting five on target. Dundee produced 10 attempts and forced three late saves from Richards.
Next, United visit Kilmarnock in the Premiership. Dundee host St Mirren.
