Bernt Klaverboer set the tone in the 14th minute with a reflex save, his five stops underpinning Heerenveen's 2-0 win at Volendam.
That early intervention came from a close-range header, with the goalkeeper standing tall to parry and prevent a swift response after the visitors' fast start.
After the restart he clawed away a rising effort that was bound for the top of the goal (73.). Moments later, he beat out a point-blank header (75.). Soon after, he flew right to repel another strike (76.).
Klaverboer finished with five saves, four inside the box, plus one high claim and a punch, calming a steady stream of crosses as Volendam delivered 25 into his area. He then got down smartly in the fifth minute of second half stoppage time to preserve the clean sheet.
The display lifts Heerenveen from eighth to sixth in the Eredivisie. They host Ajax next. Volendam visit Excelsior next.
