Urko Izeta joins Cádiz on five-year deal | OneFootball

Cádiz have confirmed their seventh signing of the 26-27 campaign, with Urko Izeta joining on a five-year contract to 2031 after days of uncertainty sparked by Mallorca’s late interest. The move fulfils the striker’s wish to wear yellow under Imanol Idiakez.

The club said in a statement that they had agreed a deal with Athletic for the striker, who returns to Liga Hypermotion. Athletic also retain performance-related add-ons, a sell-on percentage and a right of first refusal.

Izeta, from Aia, featured for Athletic’s first team in 25-26, making 16 appearances and scoring one goal at the Santiago Bernabéu against Real Madrid.

He had previously showcased his scoring touch at Mirandés in 24-25, hitting 15 goals and providing three assists in Liga Hypermotion. Those numbers helped the rojillos reach the promotion play-off final, where they lost to Real Oviedo.

Before that he came through CD Vitoria, Arenas de Getxo and Amorebieta, then joined Athletic’s reserves in 2023, scoring 22 goals in Segunda Federación.
