USL Dunkerque sign Steven Nzonzi as World Cup winner returns to Ligue 2 | OneFootball

USL Dunkerque have signed Steven Nzonzi on a free, with the 2018 World Cup winner, aged 37, set for a new challenge in Ligue 2.

The club confirmed on Friday that the former Stoke City midfielder has joined after leaving the English side earlier in July.

Nzonzi made 31 appearances last season for Stoke, 30 in the Championship, with 17 starts and one goal, plus one appearance in the FA Cup.

He previously featured in Ligue 2 with Amiens in 2008-2009, before returning to the top flight years later with Rennes between 2019 and 2021.

The France international has 20 caps and now continues his career back in the French league with Dunkerque.
