Ugrinic has taken a significant step in his knee rehabilitation by rejoining Valencia training on Wednesday, according to Superdeporte. The Swiss midfielder did not complete the session, continuing treatment for discomfort in his patellar tendon.
With four days until Valencia resume against Celta de Vigo at Mestalla on Sunday, the former Young Boys player is not expected to be involved. Carlos Corberán is pleased he is entering the final stretch of recovery, as when fully fit he has been important to his tactical plans.
Once cleared to compete, Ugrinic will push his case for the World Cup after the knee problem halted a Switzerland call-up during this international break.
Meanwhile, the coach will welcome back Dimitrievski and Comert following March duty with Macedonia and Switzerland.
With Thierry and Gayà recovered, the only remaining absentees are Copete, Foulquier, Diakhaby and Julen Agirrezabala, all long-term injuries.
