Valencia have reappointed set-piece specialist Darío Navarro to Javier Aguirre’s backroom team, reinforcing the club’s dead-ball focus. La Grada first reported his return.
Navarro joins a group that includes Toni Amor as assistant coach and Pol Lorente leading fitness. Andoni Ochotorena continues as first-team goalkeeping coach.
The Valencian coach joined the club last summer alongside Carlos Corberán and previously worked on Alessio Lisci’s staff. He is considered a specialist in dead-ball work.
Set plays were a major problem for Corberán’s Valencia last season, especially in defence, and their attacking output from such situations was modest.
Navarro’s knowledge of the squad and the routines in Paterna should ease his integration and sustain the club’s specific programme on set plays, an area with clear room for improvement.
