Valencia CF’s A-Ball team, coached by Miguel Ángel Bossio, the reigning Liga Prim champions, put the leadership on the line this Sunday as they host Fundación Atlético de Madrid at the Aldaia Pavilion (15:30).

The Liga Prim of wheelchair football, a modality also known as A-Ball, held its first official matchday this past weekend, marking a new milestone for sport for people with disabilities in Spain.
Valencia CF, on the first matchday, showed all their potential in Santillana del Mar by beating Oceja Cantabria 0-6, while at the Universitat Politècnica de València, UPV IN Aball convincingly defeated VilaSport from Villarreal 6-2.

The matchday concluded on Sunday in Cubas de la Sagra, where Fundación Atlético de Madrid fell 0-3 against the Asociación de Futbolistas del Valencia CF, completing a perfect debut for the Valencian teams.
It should be remembered that Valencia CF, coordinated by the Asociación de Futbolistas VCF, are the reigning champions of the Wheelchair Football League (Liga Prim).
The team coached by Miguel Ángel Bossio won all their matches, finishing ahead of Vilasport and Fundación Atlético de Madrid, among others.

After inventing and patenting over the last decade a special chair that allows movement, ball control and powerful shooting through controls built into the chair itself, the organisers have shaped the first national competition of this modality, which this season is entering its third edition.
It should be highlighted that Valencia CF and the Asociación de Futbolistas created the first Wheelchair Football School six years ago. This commitment by the Asociación de Futbolistas del Valencia CF sought to relaunch this new sport as a truly inclusive adapted football modality, with the social goal of giving everyone the opportunity to share the practice of the same sport.
The president of the Asociación de Futbolistas del Valencia CF, Fernando Giner, had this original idea and, after contacting César Iribarren -Director of the Master’s in Sports Management at the UPV- and José Bernardo Noblejas -Director of Ortoprono- they developed the rules of this sport and, most importantly, the design of the chairs used to play A-Ball. The team currently has the support of the Diputación de Valencia, TM Grupo Inmobiliario and Metalesa.
The aim is for this sporting discipline, which allows everyone to continue playing football, to keep growing with the goal of consolidating A-Ball in the national and international sporting landscape. The major medium-term objective is Paralympic recognition. For now, it already has official recognition and the support of the RFEF.
