Renzo Saravia finally made his Valencia debut at Son Moix, coming on after 10 minutes of the first half for the injured Thierry Rendall against Mallorca.
According to Superdeporte, the Argentine was recruited late in February as a free option after Dimitri Foulquier’s injury, and his chance arrived only amid a shortage at the back.
His early minutes were encouraging as he showed purpose down the right, was rarely tested defensively and ventured forward. He tried his luck from the right edge of the area, his shot drifting just wide of Leo Román’s post.
Corberán had said he needed an express pre-season to regain sharpness, that he had not played since December and would edge closer week by week, with involvement coming when necessary.
Despite a further setback for Thierry in late March, Saravia did not feature until now, with Unai Núñez used at right-back on several occasions. His debut therefore arrives roughly two months after joining, on a deal that was, in principle, until the end of the season.
