Valencia approach 2 February feeling their winter business is complete after bringing in Umar Sadiq, Guido Rodríguez and Unai Núñez to plug gaps left by summer exits, including Mosquera, Enzo Barrenechea and Sadiq. According to AS, chief executive Ron Gourlay stressed that in football anything can happen, though he sees late movement as unlikely.
The club plan only to react if a departure arises, then try to add a replacement. Gourlay’s stance is that such deals are improbable.
Carlos Corberán made clear on Saturday that Raba is not in his plans, leaving him out of the Sevilla trip for a technical decision. He said someone had to miss out and they chose the area with the most alternatives.
Raba has had interest from Segunda clubs, including Leganés, but, unless he has had a change of heart over the weekend, his intention for personal reasons is to stay until summer. Even so, he remains a potential last-minute option.
Santamaría has long been available, more so after Rodríguez’s arrival. The Frenchman, contracted until 2027, is set for limited minutes unless there are setbacks for Pepelu or Ugrinic, or issues like Rodríguez’s Sunday indisposition, and he was exposed for Fornals’ goal that gave Betis the win.
Even so, plans can shift quickly on deadline day. Gourlay and Lisandro Isei will be ready if a call changes the picture, with Corberán insisting the squad must not be weakened. Any exit should be replaced, ideally by a right-sided option in attack, and he considers January well used with Núñez, Rodríguez and Sadiq.
