Valencia exits for Foulquier and Diakhaby seen as ‘impossible’

Valencia plan to move players out to make room for signings, but exits for Dimitri Foulquier and Mouctar Diakhaby look unlikely. According to AS, both have long-term injuries and hefty contracts running to 2027.

Diakhaby underwent surgery on 9 January for a serious hamstring injury and has not featured since. Combined with a previous kneecap problem that sidelined him for a year, his return to elite level is considered very complicated.

Foulquier had knee surgery on 11 February, ending his season. At 33, it also appears unlikely that any club will move for him until he has recovered.

He signed a new deal a year ago, after the trip to Singapore, at the express request of Corberán.

As things stand, these departures are viewed as ‘impossible’ unless Valencia agree to pay a very significant part of the remaining year of their deals, if not the entire year, which is what is due to both.
