As reported by AS, Valencia’s afternoon at the Martínez Valero was shaped by Dituro’s resistance and Cepeda’s goal, with Dimitrievski short of his usual assurance.
Dimitrievski faced two shots on target, saving from Rafa Mir then conceding to Cepeda. The goal arrived while Cömert lay injured and Valencia did not stop play. Vázquez entered soon after Elche went ahead, replacing the injured Gayà.
Thierry was tidy at the back and muted in attack. César Tárrega was Valencia’s most reliable defender, keeping Rafa Mir and later Álvaro under wraps. Cömert struggled, lacking force in Mir’s best opening.
Gayà improved before going off, while Rioja shone until his own withdrawal after serving Beltrán and Sadiq with two fine crosses that went unconverted. Ugrinic was busy, leading in chances and crosses, but faded late. Guido ran the midfield and topped recoveries, yet shared blame for the goal.
Ramazani had the most efforts on target, five, all denied by Dituro. Beltrán missed from point-blank range. Sadiq lost too many duels and failed to finish two centres, including a clear Rioja delivery, his best act drawing a booking for Sangaré.
Hugo Duro did not break the drought but helped pin Elche back, while Vázquez tried without reward. Diego López tested Dituro from the edge of the box and enjoyed his longest outing in weeks. Pepelu covered at pivot and at times centre-back, and Danjuma’s late service was cut out by Germán Valera.
