Valencia have confirmed the signing of Kayne van Oevelen, with the Dutch goalkeeper joining Carlos Corberán’s squad after a brief delay.

According to Superdeporte, the deal is a straightforward loan from Ipswich Town for a fee of around half a million euros, which could rise if he does not reach a set appearance mark. The move was held up while Ipswich managed fitness concerns over another goalkeeper and cleared his trip to Spain.

Van Oevelen arrived at Manises on Sunday, saying he is delighted to join a great club and that an early conversation with Corberán gave him confidence.

Asked about competing with Stole Dimitrievski, he stressed his focus is on helping the team in any way he can. He described leaving Ipswich for LaLiga as a tough call, but said he is happy to be here.
