Valencia still without signings as departures remain unresolved | OneFootball

With the Valencia v Betis opener postponed, the club have a brief respite in squad building, yet Ron Gourlay still needs to speed up arrivals and trim salaries so Carlos Corberán has a workable group for the start of the league season.

AS reports that recruitment targets are unchanged, but the right-back search stalled when Meunier pulled out and went to England as Valencia waited for him to sign. Corberán wants a first-choice right-back urgently and is not prepared to compromise.

Arnau Martínez of Girona is his preferred option, though the demands of Girona and the player exceed the budget. Unless Peter Lim widens the margin, the move could slip away. A goalkeeper is also required as back-up to Stole Dimitrievski, with the Ukrainian Saputin possibly close.

Exits are just as pressing. With five injured players, Foulquier, Copete, Diego López, Canós and Marí, occupying squad spots, space must be created. Rivero could be released, while Raba and Almeida remain for now and Danjuma appears to have earned a stay with his goals.

The Portuguese, Almeida, is the only one who might bring in a fee, but his new agency have yet to find offers that satisfy both player and club. Raba and Almeida featured on Saturday.
