Van Den Belt double powers Twente up to third | OneFootball

FC Twente beat Sparta Rotterdam 4-0 in Enschede to rise from fifth to third in the Eredivisie after a ruthless second half.

Thomas Van Den Belt opened the scoring in the 58th minute, turning in Bart van Rooij's cross from close range.

Moments later, Van Den Belt struck again (59.). Kristian Hlynsson headed in from the centre of the box (71.), before Daan Rots rifled home from a Mats Rots cut-back (78.).

Joel Drommel kept Sparta in the game before the break with several saves, while Rots also struck the bar early on.

Mitchell Van Bergen went off injured in the first half, with Casper Terho introduced. Alwande Roaldsøy later departed in second half stoppage time after Sparta had used all their substitutions.

Twente registered 26 attempts, 13 on target, and 57.2% possession to underline their control. Sparta managed nine attempts and worked Przemyslaw Tyton only once.
