Vanderlei Luxemburgo improving after ICU admission in Palmas with lung infection | OneFootball

Vanderlei Luxemburgo has shown positive progress after being admitted to intensive care in Palmas with a lung infection on Friday.

According to Globo.com, the 73-year-old coach and businessman remains in ICU to complete a course of antibiotics. He is expected to stay in hospital over the weekend.

He was hospitalised after feeling unwell in the early hours of Friday. His condition is stable, with normal blood pressure and breathing.

His weekend engagements have been suspended. A pre-candidate for the Senate in Tocantins for Podemos, Luxemburgo is expected to resume his schedule next week, but will remain under precautions for the next 15 days.

He has been away from professional football since 2023, when he left Corinthians.
