Vasco and Botafogo rivals link up for padel session in Rio | OneFootball

Rivals on the pitch, neighbours on the padel court. According to Globo.com, players from Vasco and Botafogo shared a social media photo while playing the racket sport together in Rio.

Botafogo’s Allan, Artur, Arthur Cabral, Neto and Vitinho played alongside Coutinho and Vegetti. Former players Souza, Fábio and Cláudio Caçapa also joined the session.

The group take padel lessons together at the same condominium in Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro’s south-west. Several already have close friendships off the pitch, including Allan, Coutinho, Souza and Vegetti, whose families are close.

The players’ wives also keep active together at the complex, where they practise beach tennis.

Padel blends elements of tennis, squash and frescobol. It is played in pairs on a court enclosed by glass walls and mesh, with the aim of returning the ball into the opposing side.
