Vasco announce signing of striker Claudio Spinelli | OneFootball

Vasco have announced the signing of Argentine striker Claudio Spinelli on a three-year deal after he passed his medical on Monday. He will wear shirt number 77.

The 29-year-old arrives from Independiente del Valle, having landed in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday morning. The final deal is set to be around US$ two million, roughly R$ 10.5 million, and is regarded as a market opportunity given the fee and salary within Brazilian football.

Spinelli enjoyed the best season of his career in 2025 with the Ecuadorian side, scoring 28 goals in 50 games. He struck four in six in the Libertadores and four in eight in the Sudamericana, two of them against Vasco.

Centre-forward was a priority for Vasco after losing Rayan and Vegetti in that area. Brenner has been signed as first choice, but there remains a gap on the bench, currently covered by GB. The hierarchy targeted a profile similar to Vegetti, a penalty-box forward, combative and strong in the air.

Spinelli trained with the squad on Monday morning at CT Moacyr Barbosa. The club are working to register him in the CBF's Boletim Informativo Diário (BID) so that Fernando Diniz can have another attacking option.
