Vasco are close to signing Santiago Sosa from Racing, with only final details to be settled, according to Globo.com.

The 27-year-old midfielder would be the club's first addition of this transfer window.

The clubs have agreed a deal worth around seven million dollars, roughly R$ 35 million. Sosa has accepted Vasco's offer and is set to earn more than double his wage in Argentina.

Racing initially sought about 10 million dollars but lowered their price, helped by the player's desire to move. Vasco also improved the payment terms.

The club aim to conclude negotiations for Sosa and Deossa this week, with both seen as key pieces for the second half of the year.

Viewed as a priority signing, Sosa can play in midfield or at centre-back. He has been on the club's list since last year and was a standout in Racing's 2025 Libertadores run.
