Vasco fans pick Marino Hinestroza to replace Andrés Gómez against Coritiba | OneFootball

Andrés Gómez's absence for Coritiba has opened up a vacancy in Vasco's attack.

According to Globo.com, a supporters' poll favoured a front three of Nuno Moreira, David and Marino Hinestroza with 55 percent of the vote. Hinestroza has been training with the starters at CT Moacyr Barbosa, with Gómez on Colombia duty and suspended for the Coritiba match.

That selection would move Nuno Moreira to the left, a role he filled for most of 2025, and retain David in attack.

The second most popular option, with 35 percent, paired Nuno Moreira on the left with Adson on the right alongside David. The third choice drew 10 percent, proposing Nuno Moreira, David and Brenner, with David shifted left and Brenner at centre-forward.

Gómez has been among Vasco's standout performers in 2026, taking on greater responsibility after the departures of Rayan, Coutinho and Vegetti. Initially on loan from Rennes, he was bought at the start of the season and came on in Colombia's 3-1 defeat to France in a World Cup warm-up. He has appeared in all of Vasco's matches this year, recording four goal contributions in 17 games, and much of their play runs through the 23-year-old.
