Vasco have agreed to loan Sforza to Talleres in Argentina, moving the midfielder on after his return from Juventude and omission from 2026 plans.
According to Globo.com, San Lorenzo also had interest, and the loan is intended to give him more opportunities after he lost his place in 2025 and did not impress Fernando Diniz’s coaching staff.
Sforza joined at the start of 2024 in a deal led by Alexandre Mattos, with the fee around R$ 25 million. He spent most of his first season as a reserve behind Hugo Moura and Mateus Carvalho.
In 2025 he made only five appearances, two in Série A and three in the Campeonato Carioca, and was often left out under Carille, Felipe and Fernando Diniz.
Signed amid high expectations after a strong Pre-Olympic campaign with Argentina and a protracted negotiation with Newell’s Old Boys, he never established himself at São Januário. His contract runs until the end of 2028.
Vasco loaned him to Juventude midway through last year, but he did not get a run of games in the Serra Gaúcha. A return to Argentine football is seen as positive, given his emergence at Newell’s, where he captained the side while still young.
