Vasco fell to Corinthians at Neo Química Arena, with a disjointed display despite enjoying a numerical advantage for more than a half.

According to Globo.com, Saldivia and Brenner were the poorest performers, while goalkeeper Léo Jardim was the standout after two fine saves and no blame for Bidu’s goal.

Saldivia struggled, looked wound up, lost several aerial duels and allowed Bidu the shooting chance, deemed his worst outing for Vasco. Paulo Henrique was often isolated on the right but made a crucial last-man tackle on Yuri Alberto, then threatened with a second-half effort. Robert Renan picked out David for the best first-half chance, which the forward missed.

On the left, Cuiabano left gaps and was replaced by Lucas Piton, who delivered numerous crosses with little effect. In midfield, Barros passed safely after an early booking, Tchê Tchê was subdued, and Thiago Mendes was taken off at the break after dissent, having been involved in the incident that led to André’s red card.

Johan Rojas added attacking impetus and shot from range but slowed moves with heavy touches and errors. Andrés Gómez lost the ball for a Vitinho chance, later crossed for Spinelli, who headed over with the final action. With attacks reduced to hopeful deliveries and tame long shots, Renato Gaúcho’s side lacked variety, and target man Spinelli arrived only midway through the second half.
