Vasco were beaten 2-1 by Corinthians in the Copa do Brasil final at the Maracanã, and post-match ratings highlighted several underperformers.
Corinthians struck first through Yuri Alberto, then Nuno Moreira levelled with a header from an Andrés Gómez delivery. Memphis Depay restored Corinthians’ lead after Martínez dispossessed Puma high up the pitch, with Breno Bidon dribbling past Barros in the move. According to Globo.com, the lowest marks went to Léo Jardim, Carlos Cuesta, Puma Rodríguez and Barros.
Léo Jardim was judged hesitant on the opener after Yuri Alberto’s control, and soon after on another long ball, though he was not blamed for the second goal. Cuesta was too far from Yuri on the first and arrived late on Depay, struggling in his duels with the Corinthians number nine.
Puma, again filling in at left-back, had been tidy until losing the ball in attack when a pass to Thiago Mendes was on, the turnover started Depay’s winner. Barros had impressed earlier on the ball and in the build-up to the equaliser, but his rash lunge opened space as Bidon skipped by.
Nuno Moreira was Vasco’s standout, scoring the equaliser and helping link play. Gómez was the most incisive threat, while Rayan grew after moving right and twice went close, including a free-kick saved by Hugo. Thiago Mendes organised midfield and almost scored with a first-half header.
Robert Renan looked the steadier centre-back and even popped up with a dangerous effort after the break. Paulo Henrique offered an outlet, though late decision-making cost one promising break. Vegetti was tightly marked, GB missed a late chance, and Fernando Diniz kept his XI intact before making attacking changes after the second goal.
