Vasco suffered a chastening night against Internacional in the 16th round of the Brasileirão, with Cuesta, Léo Jardim, Tchê Tchê and Brenner rated the poorest. According to Globo.com, a string of individual errors left Vasco exposed and drew heavy criticism.

Nuno Moreira fashioned the clearest early opening, sending Andrés Gómez through inside three minutes, but the forward failed to convert. Internacional then struck first when Cuesta misjudged an interception, Alerrandro won the flick and Bernabei darted in behind to create the opener.

Léo Jardim compounded matters with a careless pass straight to Carbonero during a controlled build-up, presenting the second.

Robert Renan did not foul Alerrandro as the striker broke into space, and the counter ended with Internacional’s third.

Lucas Piton was then beaten for pace by Carbonero inside the box for the fourth, after Tchê Tchê had been dispossessed in a seemingly controlled wide-area situation.

With the score at 4-0, Ramon Rique came on and set up Gómez for a consolation. David also went close with a header, while Marino Hinestroza struggled to influence the contest.

ge’s ratings reflected the mood, with Cuesta handed 0.5 and Jardim 2.0, while Tchê Tchê and Brenner also received low marks. Brenner offered little as a centre-forward then as a false 9, and Cuesta was dismissed late for a scissoring tackle on Allex. Renato Gaúcho’s persistence with the pair was also questioned as the midfield proved porous.
