Vasco’s player ratings from the meeting with Atlético-MG painted a mixed picture, with Spinelli and Barros struggling while Adson and Léo Jardim offered the brighter moments.
According to Globo.com, Spinelli was rated two point five and Barros three point five, the lowest among the Vasco squad. Spinelli threatened with an early header after coming on, then struggled to link play and lost possession cheaply. Barros offered little progression and was dispossessed before the corner that led to Vitor Hugo’s headed goal.
Robert Renan received four point zero after being beaten in the air by Vitor Hugo at the set piece, while Carlos Cuesta impressed on the deck and produced a rapid recovery to block Natanael when through on Léo Jardim. Full backs Puma Rodríguez and Paulo Henrique often reached the byline, but their crossing was wasteful.
Jardim made two good saves and was not at fault for the goal. Thiago Mendes covered ground and moved the team forward without much support. Cuiabano improved after the interval, attacking space and flashing a shot narrowly wide.
Adson, stationed on the right, carried the most threat of the front three and forced a strong stop from Everson, though his decision-making was erratic. Johan Rojas found good positions between the lines but hesitated in promising moments near the goalkeeper. Nuno Moreira started sharply on the left, then faded and was withdrawn early in the second half.
From the bench, David linked play and won a free-kick with his first involvement, offering more than Spinelli. Lukas Zuccarello and Bruno Lopes could not make their late crosses count. Renato Gaúcho’s changes failed to shift the pattern, his rating at three point zero, with the side tailing off after conceding.
