Vasco sign Brenner from Udinese on contract to 2029 | OneFootball

Vasco have announced the signing of 26-year-old striker Brenner from Udinese. According to Globo.com, he becomes the club's fourth reinforcement for 2026.

He arrived in Rio last Friday, with the announcement delayed by transfer paperwork. He completed medical tests over the weekend and signed until the end of 2029.

The move was requested by head coach Fernando Diniz, who convinced him to join. On arrival at Tom Jobim International Airport, Brenner said Diniz’s influence and his family’s admiration were decisive.

Diniz previously worked with Brenner at Fluminense and São Paulo, the latter before the striker moved abroad. After leaving São Paulo, he joined FC Cincinnati, then was sold to Udinese. He later returned to the MLS side on loan late last year.

In his most recent Cincinnati spell he played 10 matches, scoring six with one assist. Vasco will pay €5 million, R$ 31 million at the current rate, to Udinese in instalments over about three years.

Vasco and Diniz had been seeking a more mobile forward to fit the system, a profile Brenner provides.

The club are now working to register him in time for Thursday’s trip to Mirassol, their Brasileirão opener at Estádio José Maria de Campos Maia.
