Vasco da Gama have renewed interest in signing Juventude midfielder Caíque, 30, with his name gaining traction again behind the scenes, according to Canal Vasco.

The possibility has been taken to executive director Admar Lopes, who plans to analyse the player's profile with the football department before deciding the next steps.

Internally, he fits strategic criteria, including a competitive age, experience in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and a cost viewed as compatible with the club's financial plan.

Caíque is nearing the end of his Juventude deal, which expires on 31 December, allowing Vasco to pursue a move without a transfer fee, paying wages and a signing-on fee only.

There are no negotiations under way at this stage. Vasco did formalise a proposal in the mid-year window, but talks did not advance.

In 2025, he played 28 Campeonato Brasileiro matches for Juventude, starting 26. He missed the opening months while recovering from a knee ligament injury, then built rhythm through the year.

The internal view is that he could broaden Fernando Diniz's midfield options. He would not arrive as an automatic starter, competing with Barros, and could prove useful over a long calendar, particularly if Vasco qualify for the Copa Libertadores.
