Vasco women to get club history pack featuring message from Marta | OneFootball

Vasco have introduced a welcome kit for their women’s team that features a message from Marta, part of an initiative to value women’s football and new signings.

According to Globo.com, every new arrival will receive the pack and the current squad will also be given it. The kit includes club items and an information pamphlet on the women’s team’s history, running to more than 15 pages.

By scanning a QR code, players can watch a video message from Marta. Angelina, one of the Seleção captains, and Helena Pacheco, the most successful coach in the club’s history, also took part in the project.

Marta began her professional career at Vasco in 2000 and debuted at 14. Some supporters at São Januário will also receive the material during Saturday’s Brasileirão Feminino A2 match against JC Futebol Clube, the team’s first there this season.

Players will receive further bespoke gifts, including pages spotlighting role models and leading Vasco players in their position, a practice already used by the men’s team since the end of the pandemic. The club plans to extend the material to its youth ranks.

Vasco’s women have a 100% record in the A2, with six wins from six.
