Fabrizio Romano reports that VfB Stuttgart attacking midfielder Enzo Millot is on the verge of moving to Saudi Arabia.
Millot has already reached an agreement with Asian Champions League winners Al-Ahli. Sky Germany reports that Stuttgart will receive a fee of €28m as Millot’s release clause, which was worth €18m, had expired.
This is the second time a club has swooped in for the Olympic Silver Medalist. Earlier this summer, it seemed like Millot would move to Galatasaray in Turkey, then LaLiga side Atletico Madrid were then leading the way for the 23-year-old, but he will now move to Saudi Arabia.
Last season, the Frenchman scored 12 and assisted eight, playing a starting role in the club’s DFB Pokal final win at the end of the season.
The expected €28m from Millot’s departure can then go into finding a departure, something Stuttgart are finding hard to finalise. The Swabians’ move for Greek international Giannis Konstantelias collapsed as the 22-year-old signed a contract extension at PAOK. They are now said to be interested in Celta Vigo midfielder Williot Swedberg.
