VfL Bochum confirm Samuel Bamba move to Marítimo | OneFootball

VfL Bochum have confirmed Samuel Bamba has joined CS Marítimo Funchal. The club said the winger has departed for the Portuguese side.

The Portuguese first division side and Bochum have agreed to keep the transfer fee undisclosed.

Bamba initially moved from Borussia Dortmund's reserve team to Castroper Straße in the summer of 2024. He made 10 competitive appearances for Bochum's first team, and also played three times for the U-21s.

Afterwards, the 22-year-old struggled for minutes, and last season he was loaned to Willem II Tilburg in the Dutch second division.

“Given the competition in the squad, it would have been difficult for Sammy to get playing time," said VfL sporting director Simon Zoller. "Therefore, we looked for a solution and found the best possible one for him. We wish him all the best and much success in Portugal.”
