Victor Munoz ‘to become’ first signing of Iraola era at Liverpool | OneFootball

The Guardian and Sky Sports report that Liverpool are close to signing Victor Munoz from Osasuna, with a fee of 40 million euros. It would be the club’s first addition since Andoni Iraola took charge.

Munoz is currently with Spain at the World Cup.

The 22-year-old winger had been lined up for Newcastle and had reached an agreement with the Magpies, but he is now expected to join the Reds.

He joined Osasuna last summer from Castilla, Real Madrid’s reserve side, and delivered a strong Liga campaign, making 34 appearances with six goals and two assists.

Luis de la Fuente selected him for the World Cup, but he did not feature in Spain’s opening match against Cape Verde, which ended 0-0.
