A wide free kick was cleared only as far as Marc Cucurella on the edge of the box, and he was alert enough to flick it back into the danger zone, where Forest defender Neco Williams was only able to head it on into the path of Pedro Neto.
The Portugal winger had missed a good chance earlier in the game, but this time made no mistake, guiding the ball across goal to where Colwill was charging in to the far post for a tap in to an empty net. It’s his second goal of the season, following his effort against Southampton back in January.
Once again, with no striker on the pitch, our defenders are doing their part. To drag this team over the finish line.

Levi Colwill is still a young player who is developing all the time. He’s had some dodgy moments this season but we’ve always been big fans of his, and he’s finishing the campaign strong with showings like this. There will be changes this summer, but Colwill should stay in place as a cornerstone of the team.
This is a particularly sweet moment for him as he scored an own goal against Forest in the playoffs when on loan at Huddersfield which saw the Tricky Trees promoted. This will be a nice moment of closure on that for him. He handed them a chance to play in the Premier League – but a few years later may now have snatched away a chance for them to play in the Champions League at the last.
