Manchester United’s players are getting ready for the new season, which will be manager Ruben Amorim’s first pre-season at the club.

United looking to recover from last season

United will be looking to recover from a horrible season last year where they finished 15th in the league and lost the Europa League final.

Many of the first team squad returned to training on Monday last week while the players involved in international fixtures in June like Bruno Fernandes came back on Thursday last week.

The Red Devils will travel to Stockholm, Sweden to play rivals Leeds United in their first game of pre-season at 14.00 UK time.

After this fixture, they will travel to the United States of America where they will play West Ham United, AFC Bournemouth and Everton.

The Red Devils have been hard at work

The club have released footage of the players back at work with new signing Matheus Cunha most likely attracting the most attention from fans.

A range of stars such as Cunha, Manuel Ugarte and Rasmus Hojlund were shown working out on exercise bikes and participating in strength conditioning.

Youngsters Sekou Kone, Diego Leon and Chido Obi were all seen mixing with the first team.

All three players will hope to have a strong pre-season where they can cement their place in Ruben Amorim’s thoughts for the upcoming season.

Popular defender Leny Yoro was also bulking up in the video with some weight training and supporters will pray that he can avoid the injury problems that he suffered in his debut season.

United hope for fast start

With only one senior new signing through the door, the Red Devils will hope that Amorim can work his magic with his current squad in training.

Strength and general fitness was said to be a problem last year and the manager will hope that with the club predominantly playing once a week this upcoming season, they can manage the physical test of the Premier League more effectively than last year.

United kick off their season at Old Trafford against Arsenal on Sunday 17th August.
