At 27-years-old, Robert Sanchez last night earned just his third cap for the Spanish national side, coming off the bench as a sub.
He then conceded a goal in their 3-2 win over Switzerland, letting a soft shot go in at his near post once again after recently being beaten at his near post for a soft goal in the Chelsea sticks too.
Sanchez just isn’t good enough to be Chelsea number one, and things like this just continue to prove that on a weekly basis. The club have continued to try and defend him, but they are now finally being linked with new goalkeepers.
Head coach Enzo Maresca has insisted he is very happy with Sanchez, but I feel this is just pure diplomacy at this point in time. It simply has to be!
Sanchez is too inconsistent
As you can see in the video posted on X over night, Sanchez conceded a goal that he should be saving last night for Spain.
Luckily his side grabbed a late winner to beat Switzerland, but Sanchez then also conceded a penalty in the game.
It was an exciting game to watch for the neutrals mind, but Chelsea fans will just be left wondering once again, how many more errors has this guy got to make before the club replace him, or before Maresca replaces him as his number one.
