Viery in Grêmio top three as €15m Fiorentina sale, add-ons could reach €17m | OneFootball

Viery’s move to Fiorentina places the defender among Grêmio’s three biggest outgoing transfers by fee. He has completed medical checks in Florence and posted a farewell message on Tuesday.

According to Globo.com, only Arthur’s €31m switch to Barcelona and Everton Cebolinha’s €20m transfer to Benfica have raised more. Viery’s price matches the €15m received for Pepê to Porto and for Mario Fernandes to CSKA.

Performance-related clauses could add €2m, taking the package to €17m and making it the outright third largest. The agreement is worth R$ 88.4m fixed, with up to R$ 11.7m in bonuses, and gives Grêmio a share of profit on any future transfer.

He has already travelled to Florence for checks at his new club. In his post, the academy graduate thanked supporters, having spent 10 years at the Tricolor.

The sale means the club have reached their 2026 budget target for player trading of R$ 140m. It does not necessarily rule out further departures this season.

Gabriel Mec is also attracting interest from Europe, with an asking price around €25m, R$ 147.3m. A deal at that level would place him among Grêmio’s biggest outgoing transfers.
