Grêmio have met their 2026 transfer income target after agreeing Viery’s move to Fiorentina, though more departures this season remain possible. The centre-back’s deal could reach about R$ 100 million.
According to Globo.com, Fiorentina will pay 15 million euros, about R$ 88.4 million, plus two million euros, around R$ 11.7 million, in add-ons. Grêmio will also take a percentage of profit on any future sale.
A budget set by the previous board projects R$ 140 million in transfer income by year end. First-quarter 2026 accounts showed R$ 56.2 million in net sales, led by Alysson’s move to Aston Villa.
Despite hitting the target, Grêmio could still cash in on Gabriel Mec to steady finances. The ask is around 25 million euros, and there is confidence they can exceed Shakhtar Donetsk’s 15 million euros bid from late last year. Mec has 28 senior appearances this season, after only two up to 2025.
Shakhtar are still mentioned behind the scenes as suitors. Valuations are considered ideal but could be negotiated given the club’s financial squeeze, and part of any fee may be conditional on sporting targets.
Gustavo Martins, Pedro Gabriel, Tiaguinho, Noriega and Monsalve are also considered saleable if offers appeal. The budgeted sales figure could be revised in line with spending across the season.
On the incoming side, major outlays are not expected in the July window. Grêmio have signed 21-year-old defender Wallace from CRB and attempted to land right-back Diego Caito from Goiás.
