Villarreal close to full fitness for Bilbao trip, Rafa Marín back, Logan Costa training | OneFootball

Villarreal have almost emptied the treatment room ahead of Sunday’s visit to Athletic Club at San Mamés at 21.00, with defenders Rafa Marín and Logan Costa the headline updates.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, midfielder Thomas Partey remains a major doubt after missing the last squad and Wednesday’s first session of the week, and there has been no confirmation yet of any physical issue.

Marín was a late withdrawal for the match in Girona due to discomfort, but he now appears recovered and in condition to play this weekend.

Costa has rejoined training with Villarreal, though he has not yet returned to competitive action.

Juan Foyth is sidelined for the rest of the season after a serious rupture of the left Achilles tendon. Head coach Marcelino García Toral is also without Pau Cabanes, who is recovering from a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
