Villarreal’s players received mixed scores after their trip to Rayo Vallecano, with several below their usual level.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Arnau Tenas rated six, conceding two but making four saves, all from shots inside the area.
Mouriño scored six, alternating bright moments with struggles against the lively Camello, yet solid in physical duels. Kambwala earned four, making his first start in nearly a year and looking slow and short of sharpness.
Rafa Marín took six and was among the steadier defenders, reading danger and anticipating well. Sergi Cardona also had six, shaky early but improving, twice breaking forward, one effort clipping the bar.
In midfield, Pape Gueye received four, unable to control the centre or raise the tempo, later replaced by Parejo. Comesaña was given four, applauded by the home crowd where he is an idol, but overrun in midfield.
Buchanan got four, tried down the right without beating his man and was withdrawn at half-time. Moleiro, on four, sought the ball before the break but failed to influence proceedings.
Oluwaseyi collected four, making runs to find space but lacking execution and accuracy. Ayoze managed five, isolated in the first period then creating several chances after the interval.
From the bench, Alfon had four and was inconsequential. Gerard scored five and was involved. Thomas took four and was peripheral, while Parejo earned five and simply logged minutes.
