Villarreal thrashed Levante 5-1 at Estadio de la Cerámica on Saturday. The result confirms a Champions League spot for next season and, for the first time in the club’s history, back-to-back qualification.
Marcelino García Toral’s side dominated throughout, with Mikautadze, Nico Pepe and Alberto Moleiro to the fore. El Periódico Mediterráneo highlights Ismael Mateu’s player ratings from the match.
Mikautadze was named best on the night with a rating of nine after two superb goals and a constant threat.
Nico Pepe also scored nine, a nightmare for Levante with a goal and two assists. Moleiro earned nine as well, rediscovering his spark and smashing in from range.
Arnau Tenas received seven after two saves, one outstanding. Alex Freeman got eight in his best display since arriving, while Pau Navarro scored seven with the only blemish being Espí’s goal.
Reanto Veiga, Pedraza and Parejo were each marked seven, the Portuguese leading the back line, Pedraza supplying from the flank and Parejo steering play.
Comesaña took eight for his control in midfield and set up Moleiro for 2-1. Gerard Moreno was given seven for link play and leadership in attack.
