Villarreal Women confirm Cienfu and Lauris renewals for 2026/27 | OneFootball

Villarreal Women are building for 2026/27 after a demanding 2025/26 that ended without promotion, losing to Valencia in extra time. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the squad have taken early steps with contract renewals as they aim to grow and return to Liga F.

On 1 June, María Cienfuegos, known as Cienfu, signed on until 2027. The Langreo-born midfielder, 08/04/2001, first joined in 2020/21 and helped deliver the club’s historic rise to the top flight. She totalled 76 appearances in her first spell and has now reached 132 official games for Villarreal.

In 2025/26, Cienfu was the engine of midfield, playing 30 matches and scoring one goal. She started 28 of those 30, underlining the staff’s trust.

On 11 June, Laura Rodríguez, Lauris, also extended to 2027. The Salamanca forward, 25/09/2001 and developed at CD Salamanca FF, arrived in 2024/25 and quickly became key to the system.

Lauris featured 25 times in 2025/26, scoring 5 goals and adding pace, ball control and bite. With these renewals, Villarreal keep two difference-makers as they look to improve and meet their objective.
