According to L'Équipe, Manuel Neuer could return to the Germany squad for the 2026 World Cup despite retiring from international football in 2024.

Julian Nagelsmann is due to reveal his list on 21 May.

Asked on Friday, Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany declined to put his counterpart on the spot over any potential call-up for his goalkeeper.

He said Bayern have the best goalkeeper in Germany.
