Vitinha backs Ousmane Dembélé to win Ballon d’Or | OneFootball

With the Ballon d’Or awards ceremony just a matter of weeks away, a clear favourite has emerged to win the prestigious individual prize. Ousmane Dembélé (28) is coming off the back of the best season of his career. It was the Frenchman who got the lion’s share of the goals as Paris Saint-Germain won the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Trophée des Champions.

One of his teammates has now backed Dembélé to win the Ballon d’Or, despite being nominated for the prize himself. Vitinha (25) was also a standout performer in PSG’s successful season. He, too, is one of the 30 players nominated to win the prize, however, speaking to Ligue1+, he said that his vote would be going to Dembélé.

“It would be incredible to win it, but I think that the person who deserves it most is Ousmane this year. He is really the man who took us to the end, up to the title that we won,” said the Portuguese international. Dembélé is currently the favourite to win the award. It is thought that Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal is his closest competition.
