Vitor Pereira insists Nottingham Forest are not worrying about Leeds United or any other rivals, focusing on themselves after a 3-0 win at Tottenham moved them three points clear of the drop, up to 16th and one behind Leeds.

“It’s not about anyone else! It’s about us and what we want to be as a team. The feeling is we can get points everywhere, home or away, this is what I want us to be,” he told BBC Radio Nottingham.

“It’s not about Tottenham, it’s not about West Ham, and it’s not about Leeds. It’s about us and what we want to be as a team and what we want to be as players, and what I want to be as a manager. I want us to play without fear and with confidence. We want to be organised and to believe.”

Leeds drew 0-0 with Brentford, trimming the gap to safety, while Tottenham lost and 18th-placed West Ham were beaten 2-0 at Aston Villa. Leeds have not won in the league since beating Forest 3-1 in early February and are goalless in four, though draws with Crystal Palace and Brentford have checked any slide.

Daniel Farke’s side have the most favourable run-in among the four candidates, with all of the bottom four still to play in their final seven matches, including Wolves and Burnley at Elland Road and trips to Tottenham and West Ham. Leeds have 13 players on international duty, with an FA Cup quarter-final at West Ham in just under two weeks, then a Premier League return at Manchester United eight days later.
