Vitor Roque trained separately for the second straight day as Palmeiras continued work during the Fifa break. The session at the Academia de Futebol also took place without head coach Abel Ferreira.
According to Globo.com, the forward is still recovering from ankle pain felt since the Campeonato Paulista semi-final and is on a twice-daily individual programme aiming to be fully fit after the international window.
Eight call-ups were absent, with Arias, Flaco López, Giay, Emiliano Martínez, Piquerez, Sosa, Maurício and Gustavo Gómez away for friendlies with their national teams.
Paulinho also remains out but has resumed on-field work. The attacker, sidelined since August last year with a knee problem, is in a physical transition phase.
Training began with possession and passing drills in a reduced area. The group then split into three teams for small-sided games, bolstered by youngsters from the club’s academy.
The session formed part of preparations for Grêmio in the ninth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. Palmeiras return to action next Thursday at 21:30, Brasília time, at Arena Crefisa Barueri.
