Vitória punish Coritiba after red card to rise to eighth

Vitória beat Coritiba 4-1 at Estádio Manoel Barradas on Saturday to climb from 11th to eighth in the Brasileirão, while the visitors remain seventh.
In the 15th minute, Renê finished from close range after a cross by Luan Cândido to set Leão da Barra on their way.
Tiago Cóser was sent off for the visitors (26.). Moments later, Zé Vitor swept in a free-kick to double the lead (28.).
On the stroke of the interval, Pedro Rocha glanced in from Tinga's header in the third minute of first half stoppage time to give Coxa hope.
After the restart, substitute Diego Tarzia restored the cushion with a left-footed finish from Renê's pass (55.).
A handball by Maicon led to a penalty (57.). Erick converted from the spot (61.).
Leão da Barra controlled 61.4% possession and registered seven shots on target from 11 attempts. Coxa managed one effort on target from five attempts.
The result leaves Leão da Barra hosting Ceará in the Copa do Nordeste next. Coxa host Internacional next.
